Frequently Asked Questions
Here, I try and paint a picture of how my classes work by answering the the questions I receive the most. Don't hesitate to keep asking! I am learning as I go, and aim to keep making the booking-planning-cooking process as smooth and easy as possible for you.
Where are you located?
I am located on Prince Edward Island, Canada and I travel to the client's home for my classes. I like using the client's kitchen so they can feel comfortable recreating the dishes with the tools and equipment they already have in the comfort of their own home.
How far do you travel, and do you charge mileage?
I am based in Eastern PEI. I will travel as far west as Summerside unless the weather is looking detrimental. I reserve the right to reschedule classes in the winter months. I do charge mileage for locations outside of Montague/Belfast area and Stratford/Charlottetown.
What Are Your Rates?
I am still in the process of solidifying my rates, as this is now my full-time job, but also want to be accessible to the masses. Click here to browse current services and rates (subject to change).
Who gets the groceries?
Once we finalize a menu for your class, I will create a detailed grocery list for you. While many clients choose to pick them up themselves, I offer to pick them up for you for a $35 fee plus the total. I also offer to come grocery shopping with you for $20 so I can show you where everything is, and why I love certain products over others.
So.. How Does This Work Exactly?
Step 1: Choose a type of class, duration, date and time that work for you here.
Step 2: As we get close to the date, I will reach out with the list of meal options and we will finalize your menu, together.
Step 3: I create your detailed grocery list and send it to you at least three days before your class.
Step 4: Either you or I pick up the groceries depending on your preference.
Step 5: I arrive to your home on the date you have booked and together we prepare our arranged menu with recipes from a customized recipe binder that you will keep.
Step 6: You are left plenty of food to eat, recipes to keep and new tips and tricks to make recreating the dish easier than ever.
I Am a Picky Eater, Will I Like The Food?
I provide a large list of meal options for you to choose from before the class. I guarantee we can find something on that list that even the pickiest eaters will enjoy. Is there something in the recipe you can't stand? No problem. All of my recipes can me modified to suit your preferences.
